We are delighted to announce that renowned veterinarian and television personality Dr Scott Miller has become a Patron of Tenerife Animal Sanctuary!
One of the UK’s most respected and recognisable vets, Scott has spent more than two decades championing animal welfare through his clinical work, writing and television appearances, including Crufts, This Morning, BBC Breakfast, Lorraine and Rescue Vet.
Scott first visited the sanctuary while filming Rescue Vet, where he experienced first-hand the unique work we do and the challenges we face caring for hundreds of rescued animals. Like many rescue organisations, we face ongoing challenges, including securing the funding, resources and veterinary support needed to care for so many animals. That is why Scott’s support means so much to us.
Rescue Vet
In October 2025, Scott came to our sanctuary to film a 2-part episode of his rescue vet series, where he helped to assess some of our animals and connected with our mission on a deeper level.
During his visit, Scott met Geronimo, the inspiration for building our very own on-site equine vet clinic. Geronimo is currently suffering from recurring infections due to his cracked tooth and needs urgent dental surgery. Unfortunately, there are no clinics on the island that can perform this and together with our vets, it’s been determined that a journey to another island would not be in his best interest. Having a clinic on site would mean that we can help more horses like Geronimo and ensure they have access to the care they need. You can sponsor Geronimo here to support his journey and receive regular updates!
In his short time at the sanctuary, Scott was also able to help many of our other animals, including Nella who was experiencing colic, assessing kittens like Ratatouille and Doullee, and even making a finca-style splint for a turkey with an injured leg.

Becoming a Patron
It was an absolute pleasure to work with Scott and Rescue Vet was just the start of our journey together. We’re thrilled to continue our relationship with him for many years to come. It truly is an honour to have Scott’s support as a Patron of the sanctuary.
“Having Scott join us as a Patron means a great deal. He has experienced the sanctuary first-hand, met our animals, and seen the dedication of our volunteers. His genuine love for animals and the way he uses his platform to champion welfare issues make him a wonderful ambassador for our work. We hope his involvement will help more people discover the sanctuary, support our mission, and understand that every rescued animal deserves a second chance.”
– Emma Greenfield, Co-Founder, Tenerife Animal Sanctuary
Scott is equally passionate about the role the sanctuary plays in both animal welfare and environmental stewardship.
“Tenerife Animal Sanctuary is far more than an animal rescue. It is a unique eco-sanctuary where animal welfare, sustainability and community come together. The team cares for hundreds of rescued animals despite the ongoing challenges of limited veterinary resources and funding. Having seen their work first-hand, I’m proud to support their mission and help raise awareness of the vital role they play in both animal welfare and environmental stewardship.”

As Patron, Scott will help us raise awareness of the sanctuary’s work, inspire support for animal welfare and sustainability, and shine a spotlight on the challenges faced by rescue organisations across Tenerife and beyond. Most importantly, his support will help more animals receive the care, safety and second chance they deserve.
From all of us, human and animal alike, thank you and welcome to the Tenerife Animal Sanctuary family, Scott! Here’s to a bright future together championing animal welfare and sustainability!
