With endless love to give, Pickle’s past doesn’t define him
Pickle is one of our newer rescues, brought to us through our small-animal veterinarian. He had spent his entire life confined to a small outdoor space, fed only tuna and bread, and given little to no training or enrichment. On paper, it sounded like a recipe for disaster, but Pickle proved us wrong in every possible way.
From the moment he arrived, Pickle showed us what a calm, gentle, loving soul he truly is. He instantly befriended everyone: dogs, cats, pigeons — Pickle does not discriminate! His kind nature and soft personality immediately captured the hearts of our volunteers. Despite his past, Pickle has adapted to his new life beautifully. In just four weeks, he learned all his basic commands and house rules, surprising us again with his intelligence and eagerness to please.
That’s why it was so difficult when we received the news of his Filaria (heartworm) diagnosis — a heart-breaking but unfortunately common illness here on the island. His treatment is long and expensive, but we are committed to giving Pickle every chance at a healthy future. Once his treatment is complete, Pickle will be ready for the loving forever home he deserves. He is wonderful with children, dogs, and other animals, calm by nature, and fully house-trained. Pickle is approximately 7 years old and he would suit a wide range of homes and is available for rehoming internationally.
Pickle may not have had the best start in life, but his heart is pure gold. And we can’t wait to see him finally receive the love and security he’s always deserved.
