The Gentle Spirit of Gingersnap: A Resilience Story
This unfortunate little guy was found on the autopista by a compassionate supporter of the sanctuary. He was coughing and sneezing from the flue, severely undernourished and had a broken tail. Additionally, he was plagued by eye infections and was full of parasites. Miraculously, he has overcome almost all of his illnesses, and to our surprise he tested negative for leukemia. Once he regained his strength, he underwent a necessary castration procedure and received protection against further illnesses.
He does have a condition known as “pillow foot”, which is sadly not as charming as it sounds. It is a rare disease of the footpads causing them to become inflamed (officially called feline plasma cell pododermatitis). While it’s not curable, it doesn’t stop him. He loves life, loves people and is such a gentleman. He is so content, purring, cuddly and just truly incredible. We lovingly named him Gingersnaps due to his snapped tail on the ginger bit.
Gingersnaps will not be up for adoption due to his age and health issues. He is very relaxed and happy here after a traumatic and challenging few months. Our wish for him is to stay relaxed and peaceful for the remainder of his years, safely in the arms of our sanctuary.
