Emergency Land Appeal — Help Us Save More Horses
We are on day three of our emergency land appeal and we are overwhelmed with the help — already reaching €4,800! We now have just eight more days to reach €20,000.
However, it’s always the same amazing people who support us so much — the same generous souls who donate their hard-earned cash to help a good cause. We are always blown away by their kindness and support. These are kind-hearted people who can’t really afford to help us, especially in such a difficult time, but do it anyway because they want to change the world.
But wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could reach those who could donate and not even notice? There are so many people in the world who have more than they need — they could make a difference without even realising, and we wouldn’t have to rely on the same generous, beautiful people.

We’ve Found Land to Buy!
After a long search, countless phone calls, trips to the town hall and land registry, and lengthy negotiations, we have finally come to an arrangement to buy the neighbouring land for animal rescue.
We have finally found land to buy!
This is incredible because, as soon as we sign, we can immediately rescue more horses — ones that have been on our waiting list because before, we simply didn’t have space.
The support so far has been incredible and we are blown away daily. With this land appeal, we have the chance to expand and rescue as many horses as we can afford. Space will no longer be an issue!
Plans for the New Land
The plan means buying three times the land we already have — and we already have a fantastic vision for how to use it.
We’ll build a large track system/paradise paddock to encourage movement for the horses who don’t enjoy leaving the finca. It’ll give them the space and time they need for easy rehabilitation, recovery, and simply to be horses — perhaps for the first time in their lives.
We’ll also build a retirement paddock in a cratered area that offers space for more eco-holiday rental caves around the perimeter. These rentals will help bring in income so we can continue the rescue cycle sustainably.
However, there’s a complication — we only found out last night (12/11/2020). We have just 10 days to sign the new land and start the process. Unfortunately, we’re currently €20,000 short.
Due to the shortage of land in Tenerife and because our finca lies in the path of proposed windmills, the land isn’t cheap. We already have three amazing sponsors who have raised over three-quarters of the asking price — but we need the remaining €20,000 to make it possible.
Donate and Spread the Word
We know this is a huge ask and difficult to achieve in 10 days — but we have to try. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. If we don’t buy it, it will become a windmill farm. We’ll never again get the chance to have so much land for rescue animals directly connected to our finca.
We’ve created many different options to donate to this cause. Even if you can’t donate personally, please share this post. Share it on your blog, Facebook page, Instagram, or in groups — and tell your friends. Maybe you know someone who knows someone who can change the lives of future rescue horses in Tenerife.
Below are real photos of horses currently on our waiting list. Their lives will change forever if we manage to pull this off. These are only the ones we have pictures of — there are at least four more we know of, and doubtless many more on the island who desperately need our help. Please help us so we never again have to decide who “looks bad enough to deserve a space and a chance of happiness.”
