The Unexpected Companion
This canine companion made an unexpected appearance at the finca, on the very day that Iggy was rushed into the vets. Iggy, who has been with Emma since she was 18, is the reason the sanctuary started. Remarkably, Zazu looks so much like Iggy in both appearance and behaviour. When he attached himself to Emma whilst Iggy was in the vets, it was a touching and emotional sign that he wanted to join their pack. And now he is, another loyal follower of Emma.
The bond between Iggy and Zazu is heartwarming. It remains a very strange coincidence how they look so alike. The uncanny resemblance between the two often surprises volunteers and visitors when they return. They often comment on how young Iggy looks, not knowing that it is actually not him. Our senior Iggy is 18 and Zazu is just over a year old.
