Lucky to be found just in time.
Mila was found on the side of the highway, alone, terrified, and shaking nonstop. Someone kind stopped and brought her to us, and as we comforted her, we noticed something—she looked pregnant.
A vet visit confirmed it – she was carrying four little ones. She’d been through so much; abandoned, scared, pregnant and alone. But she slowly started to open up and relax in the calming presence of our volunteers and, shortly after arriving, she gave birth to four healthy puppies! All four pups have now found their forever homes and Mila was adopted by one of our volunteers, now living in Portugal with a loving family, lots of grass to run and a sofa to curl up on.
We couldn’t be more happy for the second chance that Mila and her puppies have gotten. A huge thank you to everyone that donated and helped them on their journey.
