Finally a happy story

Margarita isn’t your typical rescue story — not the usual type of horse we take in here with a striking ‘before and after’. But sometimes, the most important work we do doesn’t come with dramatic visuals. Sometimes, it’s about giving a horse a safe and happy future, not rescuing them from a tragic past. She had a nice home for all of her life and was well treated with enough space and company.

Now at Tenerife Animal Sanctuary, Margarita is thriving. She’s the boss of the paddock, full of power, presence, and personality. She’s loving her life, and we’re so proud to be part of it. She’s loving her life, and we’re so proud to be part of it
