A second chance for our unique, three-legged kitten
The newest addition to our finca family, the sweet, little Simpática’s rescue journey didn’t actually start with us. It began with another amazing association called El Gato Negro, run by the lovely Sylvia. Simpática had a very difficult start in life and sadly had to have her leg removed. Sylvia cared for her with so much love and dedication and brought her back to health.
However, it soon became clear that Simpática was very hard to rehome. Due to her body shape and missing leg, she struggles with balance and staying clean in a litter tray, which made traditional homing difficult. So Sylvia reached out to us, thinking that our charity, with lots of land and the possibility of creating a safe outdoor space, might give Simpática a better chance at a fuller life. Our hope is to rehabilitate her into a cat who can enjoy freedom, safety and space as part of the finca family.
Right now, she’s staying with one of our wonderful volunteers who has a secure, enclosed garden and she’s already starting to learn to find her feet, even though she only has three of them. At the moment, Simpática is also fighting an eye infection, but despite everything she’s been through, she is incredibly cuddly, incredibly cute, and already completely loved by all of us. We hope one day she’ll find her forever home. But if she doesn’t, we promise to give her the very best life we can here
If you’d like to sponsor Simpática and help with her eye treatment and ongoing care, we would be so grateful.
