Thumbelina was living in a herd running free with all the rest of our donkeys and although she enjoyed this very much we started to see some problems arising with her leg, an issue she had before arriving to us. After working closely with our team of vets we decided the best thing for her was to separate her from the group and limit her movement.

Since making the change we have seen a great improvement in her behaviour and general well-being. She lives with another physically challenged mare in a paddock where only a small rock wall separates them from the rest so she can still reach out and socialise with the rest of the herd whenever she likes. They enjoy a shorter walk tailored to their needs and grazing down in the garden below together daily, she seems to really enjoy this new routine.

Feburary was a big month for all our equines including a de-worming for each of them which we do regularly with our vets! Thumbelina was a Star! We have also dealt with eye issues, teeth filing/removal along with a new arrival and some re-homings! So I would just like to take a chance to thank you personally for your on-going support of not only Thumbelina but the project and the work we do as a whole!
