Dear sponsor, thank you so much for your unwavering support. We apologise that it has been such a long time since our last updates. We have recently launched our new website and have been working to ensure that everything is correct. We have also had a shortage of volunteers but we now have our fantastic office team up and running again. Now for the update on our wonderful Lucas.

Since Lucas has come to Tenerife Horse Resuce we have been doing our best to give him the best care possible. Lucas is a great horse who gets walked daily and taken care of by our team of volunteers. However, he has been suffering from sores on his legs. These sores are caused by bot flies which are quite common among donkeys but very irritating. As well as creating sores on the donkey’s legs, they also lay eggs on them. This means that the issue can be an ongoing nightmare. Luckily after trying several treatments, we have come up with a solution. Lucas now wears very stylish denim jeans on his legs. We have done this to protect his sores and to stop the flies getting to him. We are so happy that this is working and his legs are healing. We first tried using tights, then leggings, but cutting the top of old denim jeans and putting them on him has worked perfectly.
