We have a lot of animals here that are often the animals that people forget about. We have hundreds of chickens and ducks, almost 100 guinea pigs, some mice and rabbits. We do or best to give love and care to all of these animals with our volunteers. Most of them were abandoned, despite that they are easy to take care of. We have recently rescued about 8 guinea pigs and we are rescuing 8 more tomorrow. We separate the boys and girls to prevent breeding but often the girls come to us pregnant. We keep the girls in a separate cage to monitor if they are pregnant or not and then if they are, we can keep an eye on the babies until they are old enough to be release into the normal guinea pig areas. The mice are a new addition to the finca, we received about 30 of them but it took some time to identify the sexes and to see if some of them were pregnant. We have since built two houses for the mice but they are often hiding under the straw. The cats have taken an interest in sitting by the mouse house.

We really have so many animals to care for here and we really appreciate the money that you give towards the animals that people often forget about.
